Wright Pools & Spas has had a dominant presence in the lower North Island for more than 40 years. We are the largest and most experienced company in the lower North Island supplying, installing and servicing swimming pools and spas.

Story
From small beginnings, owner Grant Edwards started in the pool and spa industry more than 45 years ago. After overseas industry experience in the US, Canada and UK, he purchased Wright Pools & Spas, Lower Hutt, back in 1992. From there, Grant opened our Wairarapa shop 15 years ago and the business has grown bigger still.
Based from our two stores, we now employ more than 20 staff, many of whom have been with us for a decade or more.
We fully invest in the products we sell, our staff and the community we serve.
Our
Stores
With shops in Lower Hutt (Wellington) and Carterton (Wairarapa). We offer a comprehensive service from build, design, supply and servicing of commercial (e.g. residential care facilities, gyms, schools, universities, hotels) pools and spas, as well as those for the domestic market.
Our Lower Hutt showroom boasts one of the largest selection of spas in New Zealand and we have a huge stock of spare parts for all makes and models. In Carterton, we have recently built a brand new display centre featuring a Compass Pools self-cleaning swimming pool and a large Spa Pool and Swim-Spa showroom showcasing two ranges of quality spas: High Country Spas and Sapphire Spas.
On top of this, we have a highly experienced service team and also stock a huge selection of componentry, accessories, chemicals as well as specialist products to prevent and manage everything pool or spa related.

Founder Grant Edwards has built a long and respected career in the sale and servicing of spa pools, including being one of the largest Hot Spring Spa dealers in Australasia. Today, Wright Pools & Spas proudly supplies Sapphire Spas, a premium brand known for its design excellence, and manufactures, distributes, and sells the exclusive High Country Spas range, offering outstanding value, quality components, and feature-rich designs.
Wright Pools & Spas is also the authorised Lower North Island dealer for Compass Pools, recognised globally for their strength, durability, and innovation in composite swimming pool construction. In a country prone to earthquakes and extreme weather, that resilience matters. During the Christchurch earthquakes, only two of the 80 locally installed Compass Pools sustained minor damage, and both were successfully repaired and reinstalled once ground conditions stabilised.
Following Cyclone Gabrielle in February 2023, flooding caused severe damage to some pools, including shell damage and pools lifting from the ground. Compass Pools had already responded to this type of risk with a patented hydrostatic valve, included as standard in all Compass Fibreglass Pools since 2017. Designed for high sensitivity and strong flow rates, it provides added protection and is backed by a unique hydrostatic damage warranty.

For those of you looking at spas, we stock two brands of spa pools; Sapphire Spas are 100% Australian designed and manufactured. High Country Spas are imported by ourselves and distributed nationwide to more than 15 shop locations. All the brands we sell are unsurpassed in functionality, energy efficiency and quality and will give you a lifetime of enjoyment and relaxation.

SPASA
Panel Member
For founder Grant Edwards, selling pools and spas is more than a job, it’s his passion and vocation. Such is Grant’s commitment to the industry that he’s part of the SPASA panel working with the Government to try and establish better regulations in pool construction.
Currently there are low barriers to entry as anyone can become a pool builder. Not surprising, without regulations and an official training scheme, problems are not uncommon.
The purpose of SPASA is to establish consistent standards and processes, as well as an official training/apprentice scheme to help provide a clear pathway to a series of formal industry specific qualifications.
